1. Introduction

TekAdept, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates TheBurnerMail mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"), which generates disposable, temporary email addresses for users. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information. Because our Service is inherently privacy-oriented, we take our obligations here seriously. By using TheBurnerMail, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information (if you register for a paid account):

• Email address (your real email, used for account recovery and billing notifications)
• Password (stored as a secure, salted hash — never in plaintext)

Service Usage Data (collected automatically):

• Burner addresses created, number of emails received, and address expiry events
• App usage patterns, session data, and feature interactions via analytics
• Device type, OS version, and app version
• Crash and diagnostic data
• IP address (used for abuse detection and approximate geolocation; not linked to identity)

Inbound Email Content:

• Emails sent to your burner addresses are temporarily stored to allow you to view them in the app. We do not read, analyze, or mine email content for advertising purposes.
• Email content is automatically deleted when a burner address expires or is manually deleted by you.

3. Payments & Subscriptions

TheBurnerMail offers optional paid plans processed through Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) or a third-party payment processor. TekAdept, LLC does not store full payment card numbers. We may receive subscription status and renewal information from payment platforms to manage your account tier.

4. Third-Party Services

• Analytics: Firebase Analytics or equivalent — usage data.
• Crash Reporting: Firebase Crashlytics or equivalent — diagnostic data.
• Advertising: TheBurnerMail's free tier may display ads via third-party ad networks. These networks may use cookies or advertising identifiers. You may opt out via device ad settings.
• Email Infrastructure: Inbound email routing and temporary storage handled by our backend infrastructure.

5. How We Use Your Information

• To create and deliver disposable email addresses
• To display inbound emails to you within the app
• To manage your account and subscription status
• To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and fraudulent use of the Service
• To improve Service performance and reliability
• To serve advertisements on the free tier
• To comply with applicable law

6. Data Minimization & Retention

Minimizing data is core to what TheBurnerMail is about:

• Inbound email content is deleted automatically when a burner address expires or upon your manual deletion. Maximum retention is 30 days from receipt.
• Burner address metadata (address string, creation date) is deleted with the address.
• Account data is retained while your account is active, and deleted within 30 days of account deletion, except where legally required.
• Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months, then aggregated or deleted.
• Abuse/security logs (IP addresses associated with suspicious activity) may be retained for up to 90 days.

7. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:

• Service Providers: Cloud infrastructure, analytics, and payment processors under data processing agreements.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order). We will notify you where legally permitted.
• Abuse Prevention: We may share IP or account data with abuse reporting services to combat spam originating from our platform.

8. Advertising & Your Choices

The free tier of TheBurnerMail displays ads. Upgrade to a paid plan to remove ads entirely. To limit ad personalization, use the "Limit Ad Tracking" (iOS) or "Opt out of Ads Personalization" (Android) setting on your device.

9. Children's Privacy

TheBurnerMail is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used our Service, please contact us.

10. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.

11. Security

We use TLS encryption for all data in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls on all systems. Given the nature of the Service, we work to ensure temporary email content cannot be accessed by unauthorized parties. No system is perfectly secure; if we experience a breach affecting user data, we will notify affected users as required by law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
